This Man
Years ago there was a man
Who walked this earth like you.
His enemies were many,
His followers were few.
He came to teach salvation
To sinners such as we.
When He left the glory of Heaven,
He knew His destiny.
He gave His life on Calvary
Such agony to bear.
He even prayed forgiveness
For those who placed Him there.
This blessed man called Jesus
The world He came to save.,
Was taken from that wooden cross
And laid low in the grave.
But the grave it could not hold Him,
Death it had no sting,
He ascended into Heaven,
Jesus Christ our King.
One day He'll be returning,
A grand day that will be.
He'll take us home to Heaven
For all eternity.
