Our Angels
Heaven has another angel,
Our "Jackie" has gone home.
He's joined our other loved ones
As they kneel before the throne.
Only God in His great wisdom
Our destiny knows.
I'm sure that he grieves with us
When our tears so gently flow.
They say time will heal
All the heartache and pain,
That in time you will recover
And you'll learn to smile again.
But, personally speaking,
My heartaches still there.
I ponder my life and think
Nothing seems fair.
Our precious Cathy Lou
God called to her Heavenly home.
Then, Daddy soon joined her
And left Mom alone.
Then the angels came for Michael Gene
He now plays in the Heavenly band.
Why he had to leave so suddenly
We try to understand.
Mother faced each lonely day
With a smile upon her face.
Until God called her home,
She was a woman of stately grace.
The pain that she went through
Yet a smile you would always see.
She sure set a brave example
Of what great dignity should be.
Then God beckoned to "Jackie",
Said "It's time to come home.
Your Dad and Mom's waiting
For you at the throne."
Jack's wife carried on
Though she grieved for him so
'til at last Norma joined him
Where she wanted to go.
Now the angels came for Ray,
Cathy Lou now has her dad
What a happy reunion
But I'm left here so sad.
At a white baby grand
I can just picture mom.
And, as Jack and Mike play,
My other loved ones sing along.
It is we who are left grieving
And our only thoughts must be,
That some day we will join them
When God says "Come home to me."
