It's a long way to Heaven
A long way to go.
A long way to Heaven
Such a rough and bumpy road.
Loved ones will be waiting
To welcome us inside.
What a great thing to happen,
Why, I could walk by Jesus' side.
A good life isn't easy,
Sometimes we are sad.
We feel as though we've lost
The only friend we ever had.
But, when we feel discouraged,
There is a place to go.
The Good Book says
We have a friend
And, from Him all blessings flow.
It's a long way to Heaven,
A long way to go.
A long way to Heaven,
Such a rough and bumpy road.
Loved ones will be waiting
To welcome us inside.
What a great thing to happen.
Why, I could walk by Jesus' side.
Now, good friends won't you join me
On that glory road?
I know it won't be easy,
We all have such heavy loads.
But, keep your eyes to Heaven
And Jesus in your heart,
And our reward will be forever
Lasting with our Lord.
