When My Life Is Over

I've tried to live as I know I should
Showed my love for my fellow man.
I've shared heartaches and tears,
Tried to calm someone's fears
In a way they would understand.

I've had plenty of sorrow myself
I've had heartaches like  they're going through.
My wish for tomorrow
Is God's help through their sorrow,
Sending comfort when they're feeling blue.

When my life is over, I hope God will say
"My child I have opened the gates.
You've followed My Son
So your victory's been won,
And your Heavenly Home awaits."
