WONDERFUL COMFORT
WONDERFUL COMFORT

When God called our Cathy "Safely Home"
We thought our hearts would break.
Our world had crashed around us,
In our hearts was a grieving ache.

But, God in His great wisdom
Gave us wonderful comfort to see.
When we returned from her funeral
What we saw we know God meant to be.

On the desk in her room lay her Bible
Where she'd bookmarked, we opened and read.
Blessed are they that mourn for
They shall be comforted.

This, to us, was a sign that God gave us
That He would always be near
To bring comfort to hearts that were aching
For the daughter that we held so dear.

It's been years since the day that she left us.
Our tears have eventually dried.
We know that in Heaven she's waiting
Where someday with her we'll abide.

Since this is the anniversary of our Cathy's passing, I felt it a good opportunity to share this poem.  Maybe some comfort will come to somebody else who has lost a child or any loved one.
